Chapter 4 – Are you jealous of your Junior Sister?

"Remember what you said. If you break your promise, I... I will never speak to you again!"

Bai Ruxue huffed.

"Don't worry, Master. I won't break my promise. On such a beautiful night, why don't we enjoy it together?"

Su Jue replied with a smile.

"Enjoy what?"

Bai Ruxue looked around at the silent surroundings. Apart from a grove of maple trees, there was nothing else.

"The moon."

Su Jue sat down and patted the empty space beside him.

"The moon?"

Bai Ruxue sat next to Su Jue, and they were very close.

She looked up at the sky. Tonight was a full moon night, and the bright moonlight bathed the earth in a magnificent glow.

"Master, do you think this counts as our first date?"

Su Jue leaned back on his hands, gazing at the bright moon, and smiled.

"Da... date?"

Bai Ruxue's cheeks flushed slightly. "I suppose it does?"

"I will always remember this day."

Su Jue said sincerely.

"So will I."

Bai Ruxue felt that she would never forget this peculiar day.

It was on this day that she gained a Dao partner.

And that partner was her disciple.

It was quite an unexpected twist, something she could never have imagined happening before.

"Actually, I know you didn't mean to harm me. You had your reasons, didn't you?"

Bai Ruxue turned her head to look at Su Jue beside her. His flawless profile was extraordinarily handsome under the moonlight.

For a moment, she was lost in thought.

What was happening?

Was this what they meant by "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? She never realized Jue'er was so handsome before.

Even though she was used to Su Jue's appearance, she couldn't help but marvel.

"Yes."

Since there was no going back, Su Jue had no qualms about admitting it.

"I noticed long ago."

Bai Ruxue smiled knowingly.

"Since when?"

Su Jue asked curiously, thinking his acting was quite good.

"From the day your personality changed.

The old you wasn't a wastrel. You had exceptional talent, a steady temperament, yet retained youthful vigor. You were truly kind-hearted.

But I don't know what you went through to become a wastrel, indifferent, vengeful, and reckless.

I'm just curious why you changed so much."

Bai Ruxue asked the question that had been on her mind.

Having spent ten years with Su Jue, she knew him inside out.

Su Jue's temperament was the most mature and stable she had ever seen, but it was different from being emotionless.

He was also full of youthful energy and confidence, which were his trademarks.

Coupled with his extraordinary talent, he was a true heavenly prodigy. Otherwise, Bai Ruxue wouldn't have chosen him as the Sword Sect's next Sect Master candidate.

His occasional bursts of spirit made him a rising star in the Sword Sect.

He was the white knight in the hearts of the female disciples and an idol to the male disciples.

"Master, there's nothing I can hide from you, but whether I say it or not won't change anything."

Su Jue couldn't reveal that he had a system. It would remain his eternal secret.

"It's okay."

Bai Ruxue understood that everyone had their secrets. She said, "Is it because of your junior sister's appearance?"

A quick look at "pawread dot com" will leave you more fulfilled.

"It has an inseparable connection."

Su Jue nodded.

According to the plot development, it was the appearance of the junior sister that led him down a path of no return out of jealousy.

Although he took a different path, it still followed the plot.

"I see."

Bai Ruxue suddenly understood, and her gaze towards Su Jue became extremely gentle.

"Master, what do you know?"

Su Jue asked in confusion.

"Are you jealous of your junior sister?"

Bai Ruxue smiled warmly.

"Huh?"

Su Jue wanted to say no, but there seemed to be no better reason.

He could only nod awkwardly with a flushed face.

A grown man being jealous of a woman was indeed a bit embarrassing.

"I didn't expect your feelings for me to be so deep. Don't worry, I only have a normal master-disciple relationship with your junior sister.

The reason I take care of her is because she's an orphan, and I want to make up for that.

Don't worry about my feelings for you being divided."

Bai Ruxue comforted him.

Although she maintained her composure, her heart was filled with happiness.

Su Jue's love for her was what she wanted to see.

Even though being jealous of the junior sister was a bit unreasonable, it was enough to prove Su Jue's feelings for her.

"Well..."

Su Jue scratched his head, deciding not to explain and let this beautiful misunderstanding continue.

However, he truly didn't know that his junior sister was an orphan.

He only knew his own storyline.

"Also, if you really want to harm me next time, can you use a different method?"

Bai Ruxue gave Su Jue a disdainful look.

Su Jue's mouth twitched. "There won't be a next time, Master. I can't bear to."

Bai Ruxue rolled her eyes, waved her jade hand, and a delicious dish appeared in front of them.

However, there was some black powder on top of the dish, making it particularly noticeable.

"Do you think I wouldn't notice without your junior sister telling me?"

Bai Ruxue looked at Su Jue.

"Ahem, was it that obvious?"

Su Jue awkwardly rubbed his nose.

Bai Ruxue said with exasperation, "If you fed this to a dog, it would spit it out before leaving."

He hadn't thought much at the time, just wanted to quickly complete the plot and become the protagonist.

So he didn't think much when poisoning and even deliberately told his junior sister to inform his master.

"......"

Su Jue gave an embarrassed smile.

"I knew you wouldn't harm me. I didn't really want to kill you earlier, just wanted to lure out the person giving you advice! Who knew you'd be so reckless, running into the sword yourself!"

Bai Ruxue knocked on Su Jue's head and huffed.

Su Jue said righteously, "I felt deeply guilty and wanted to die to atone for my sins."

"There are many ways to atone. Did you have to die? I spent ten years painstakingly nurturing you, and you just want to die?"

Bai Ruxue gave Su Jue a charming glare.

"So I chose another way, to become Master's husband and stay by your side."

Su Jue winked with a smile.

"Smooth talker, never serious. Hurry up and tell me who that person is?"

Bai Ruxue's lips curled slightly, clearly in a good mood.

Su Jue thought of that old woman, and a cold gleam flashed in his eyes. "Master, it's the Grand Elder."

Now Bai Ruxue was not only his master but also his woman, so the Grand Elder was their common enemy.

"I knew it was her!"

Bai Ruxue's gaze turned icy, her face like frost.

Before Su Jue said anything, she had some suspicions, and it was indeed the Grand Elder.

As a remnant of the previous Sect Master's faction, she coveted the Sect Master position with ambition.

If Bai Ruxue hadn't intervened back then, the current Sect Master would be the Grand Elder.

Clearly, the Grand Elder hadn't given up and still wanted the position of Sword Sect Master.

But she shouldn't have provoked Bai Ruxue!

"I'll handle this matter."

Bai Ruxue said coldly.

Su Jue nodded, not saying much.

He never underestimated Bai Ruxue. Her strength was unquestionable, and her ability to become the Sword Sect Master showed she was not to be trifled with.

This matter was something she could handle with ease.
