Chapter 14 – The Ten Rings

On the dusty Gobi Desert, a convoy roared past, kicking up clouds of yellow sand.

"Boss, are we going to capture those Kashmiris today?"

The speaker was a minor leader of the Ten Rings, sitting next to him was a bald Central Asian man.

He was the person in charge of the Ten Rings in the Afghanistan region, also the leader of the Ten Rings.

"Yes, the Kashmiris are not our compatriots. I don't like those ridiculous freedom fighters. The leader always oppresses his own people." The bald man had distinct South Asian features.

Brown skin, a hooked nose, deep-set eyes, and a pair of brown-yellow eyes. His smile always gave off a sinister feeling.

He looked like a vulture.

He was one of the leaders responsible for the kidnapping of Tony Stark. The other leader was a local Afghan terrorist, a bearded Kashmiri leading the freedom fighters.

The Ten Rings was not a native gang but rather an outsider.

They had only been established in Central Asia for about ten years, although they had a stronger backing in the East.

However, unless necessary, the bald man didn't want to ask for help from the headquarters in the East. The master in China was very busy, and if he had to trouble him with everything, he would have no value in Afghanistan.

So, cooperating with local gangs and terrorists was the wisest choice, allowing for mutual benefits.

For instance, the plan to kidnap Tony was a joint effort by the two gangs. The employer offered a generous sum, though the risk was significant.

After all, they were snatching Tony right under the nose of the U.S. military, but for that huge sum and the military support from Stark Industries, the two gangs were willing to take some risks.

On the other side, Natasha was driving a jeep across the Gobi Desert, kicking up clouds of yellow sand. She said, "According to the information from Barton, besides the so-called freedom fighters, there's also a group called the Ten Rings involved in the attack on Tony Stark. The two groups teamed up to attack the U.S. military and kidnapped Tony Stark. Moreover, the leader of the Ten Rings is an Easterner named Mandarin who possesses magical powers. Do you think you can handle magic?"

Yang Han was a bit dumbfounded. The Ten Rings? Damn! Isn't this the Marvel Cinematic Universe? What the hell is this Ten Rings thing?

Yang Han felt a bit of a headache, even though he didn't actually have one. He was completely confused now. There shouldn't be a Ten Rings in the movie universe, and even Mandarin was just a fake actor.

Yang Han was a bit anxious. This already proved that the plot had deviated from the track, and with him being a small butterfly, Yang Han felt he was doomed sooner or later.

Yang Han was silent for a long time before saying quietly, "I don't know."

Even though his abilities were much stronger than the Venom species itself, he had only bonded with an ordinary person and a super agent, so his abilities were limited. Facing Mandarin, Yang Han felt a bit uncertain.

"You don't know?" Natasha was a bit surprised.

"I've never seen magic, and I haven't absorbed other metahuman abilities. This is my weakest period, what can I do?" Yang Han rolled his eyes, although his eyes were naturally white.

"Alright." Natasha shrugged, internally feeling the urge to quickly find some metahumans.

However, the main task now was to rescue Tony Stark.

Natasha floored the gas pedal, increasing the speed again. Due to the strong winds and yellow sand on the Gobi Desert, Natasha's jeep sped past a convoy in the distance.

In a secluded cave,

"Tony, we don't have much time. How confident are you?" In a remote cave in Afghanistan, a middle-aged man with a scholarly appearance asked anxiously.

The person he was asking was none other than the globally sought-after super tycoon, chairman of Stark Industries, Tony Stark.

"Yinsen, it's almost done. Once we finish this big guy, we can get out of here, and you can reunite with your family!" Tony said as he struggled to adjust a pneumatic valve.

The pneumatic valve was just a small component of the big guy in front of them.

If we zoom out, we can see the full picture: a silver-white suit of armor stood before Tony and Yinsen.

The armor was crudely made, possessing a wild beauty. Large pieces of alloy were welded together, with the welds simply polished and exposed.

Its somewhat oversized bulk didn't give a clumsy impression but rather exuded a fierce and powerful aura.

Tony Stark adjusted the pneumatic valve, stood up, and examined his new creation, with a miniaturized Arc Reactor installed in his chest for survival.

After more than twenty failed experiments this year, under the threat to his life, Tony finally completed the miniaturization of the Arc Reactor.

"Yinsen, help me cover the back armor." Tony was putting on the Mark I Armor.

However, due to the lack of adequate equipment, the Mark I had almost no intelligent systems. Most of the time, the equipment had to be manually worn.

"Okay, Tony. Do you think we can do it?" Yinsen covered the back armor of the Mark I and connected a few internal lines under Tony's guidance.

"Don't forget, I'm Tony Stark, the world's top genius." Even trapped, Tony remained full of confidence.

The terrorist base was unusually quiet today because the leaders of the two gangs had taken most of their men out to capture civilians.

Only a few terrorists were left to guard the base.

Tony and Yinsen had prepared thoroughly. No terrorists noticed anything unusual.

Tony successfully donned the Mark I Armor and then said to Yinsen, "Doctor, stand behind me later, and remember not to run around."

"This armor is made of titanium alloy. Although not as strong as gold-titanium alloy, it should be enough to withstand ordinary assault rifle attacks," Tony advised.

"Once we're out, I'll provide cover fire. Remember those pickup trucks we saw before? Try to start one, and I'll cover you. We can escape together!"

Tony devised a simple tactic. Dr. Yinsen was a scholar with no combat experience, but he nodded firmly, indicating he could do it.
