Rolling black smoke billowed out of the open windows, engulfing the thirty-story residential building in flames. The raging fire resembled a burning dragon clinging to the exterior of the building, while water jets from the firefighters' hands merged together like a shield made of flowing water, rushing towards the surging flames.

"Help! Help... cough, cough..."

The cries for help from the residents trapped in the fire echoed continuously. The fire, fueled by the impact of the high-pressure water jets, seemed to grow even more fierce, displaying an unrivaled momentum. With teeth bared and claws outstretched, it smirked triumphantly at the helpless people.

Almost an entire floor on the twenty-fourth level had been reduced to charred earth. Thick smoke filled the air, and flames continued to devour the remnants of debris. The few survivors had been forced into the corners of the floor, with the raging flames consuming most of the space. The scorching claws inched closer to them, and the heat waves were enough to drive one insane.
