Chapter 10 – A Maid Named Xiaoyue Is Actually a Princess?

As he was lost in thought, footsteps suddenly approached. Xiao Yifeng turned his head to look outside the courtyard and saw a young girl in gray standing at the door.

The girl appeared to be around eighteen or nineteen years old. Despite her simple green dress, her delicate features couldn't be concealed, making her a rare beauty.

The girl seemed a bit surprised to see him, but quickly regained her composure, bowed slightly, and said, "Greetings, Young Master Xiao. I am Lianyue, sent by the Mistress to attend to you. You may call me Xiaoyue."

Xiao Yifeng chuckled bitterly and said, "No need for formalities, Sister Xiaoyue. I'm not a young master; you can just call me Xiaofeng.

Master's Wife asked you to take care of my daily needs, and I couldn't refuse. I'll be relying on you, Sister Xiaoyue."

"Serving Young Master Yifeng is my duty," Xiaoyue replied. Seeing his kind demeanor, she felt somewhat relieved.

She was originally a princess of a worldly kingdom named Lianyue. Her mother, not wanting her to become a political bargaining chip, went to great lengths to have her become a servant disciple at Luoshu Manor.

Eventually, she followed Lin Ziyun into the Heaven-Inquiry Sect at a young age and had been serving Su Qianyi's family ever since. Thanks to Lin Ziyun's kindness, their days were quite comfortable.

Today, she was suddenly informed that she would be assigned as a maid to a newly promoted true disciple, which shocked her. She wondered if she had done something wrong.

Or perhaps this true disciple was extraordinary enough to warrant such attention from the Mistress? Was she to entertain him with her looks?

She thought that those serving Lin Ziyun might have misunderstood her intentions, which was why they chose her, the most beautiful one. Her heart was a mix of emotions.

However, upon seeing that the person was just a ten-year-old boy, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Xiao Yifeng, unaware of her complicated thoughts, waved his hand and said, "Sister Xiaoyue, you can stay in the room on the first floor. I live on the third floor. If you need anything, you can find me there. Go ahead and tidy up your room."

Xiaoyue acknowledged his words, bowed, and went inside to arrange her room.

Xiao Yifeng watched her back, glanced up at the bright moon in the sky, and smiled to himself.

He turned around and returned to his room on the third floor, sat cross-legged, and began to draw in the Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth.

If Xiang Tiange and Su Qianyi saw this, they would be shocked, as no one had yet taught Xiao Yifeng the Heaven-Inquiry Sect's incantations.

But Xiao Yifeng knew from his past life that no one would come to his small courtyard at night.

As for Xiaoyue, he wasn't sure of her character.

However, considering she was Lin Ziyun's maid, she must be someone who knows her place and wouldn't intrude into his room without reason.

Thus, he wasn't too concerned. The sooner he started cultivating, the better.

He didn't want to waste any time. After all, no matter what he wanted to do, strength was the foundation of everything. Without strength, he could only be powerless and angry.

At this moment, the three major techniques—Formless Heart Sutra, Nine Volumes of Heaven-Inquiry, and True Explanation of Stars—flashed through his mind.

He hesitated for a moment, then boldly decided to practice the True Explanation of Stars and Nine Volumes of Heaven-Inquiry simultaneously, using the Formless Heart Sutra to harmonize them.

Although practicing one technique alone would yield faster progress, with his past life experience, Xiao Yifeng knew that practicing both would result in increasingly powerful outcomes.

In his previous life, having only the True Explanation of Stars and Formless Heart Sutra was enough to dominate a region. Now, with all three techniques, he was even more formidable.

Moonlight spilled through the window, and a gentle breeze rustled the bamboo leaves outside.

Inside, the young boy practiced with closed eyes, his expression focused and serious.

The next morning, after a night of cultivation, Xiao Yifeng opened his eyes.

He shook his head helplessly, lamenting his poor talent.

After a whole night of practice, he could only sense a faint trace of spiritual energy and couldn't even draw Qi into his body.

By this time, Xiaoyue was already up. Xiao Yifeng greeted her with a smile.

Xiaoyue quickly fetched water, and Xiao Yifeng washed up before heading to the courtyard to stretch his muscles, which had been still all night.

Though he was accustomed to Breathing and Respiration Exercises, his body was sore from staying motionless all night.

Soon, he heard a sound and saw a one-meter-tall, snow-white Snow Lion bounding in first.

Following the Snow Lion, Su Miaoqing, dressed in a tight-fitting white robe, jogged in.

Seeing Xiao Yifeng stretching in the courtyard, Su Miaoqing was visibly surprised.

She exclaimed, "Oh! You're already up. I was thinking of bringing Xiaobai over to..."

She abruptly stopped mid-sentence, her beautiful eyes spinning mischievously.

Xiao Yifeng glanced at the Snow Lion, recognizing it as Su Miaoqing's usual pet, the little cat Xiaobai.

Xiaobai, with its large body, sharp fangs, and bristling fur, looked quite fierce.

Seeing Su Miaoqing's guilty expression, Xiao Yifeng couldn't help but laugh, "Senior Sister, were you planning to bring a big Snow Lion to scare me?"

"No such thing! Don't talk nonsense!" Su Miaoqing, her childish intentions exposed, blushed and retorted.

Her face flushed, she straightened her expression and said loudly, "I was worried you'd oversleep, so I came to wake you up. Let's go up the mountain for morning lessons. Hurry up, don't be late."

Xiao Yifeng nodded in response, "I'm ready. Let's go, Senior Sister!"

He walked up to the Snow Lion and patted its head, causing it to bare its teeth but not daring to bite him.

Xiao Yifeng shook his head, thinking how this cat was still so unfriendly to strangers.

Seeing that Xiaobai couldn't scare Xiao Yifeng, Su Miaoqing huffed and said, "Let's go."

Once ready, Su Miaoqing gestured, and Xiaobai leaped into her arms, transforming into a small, snow-white cat mid-air, landing in her embrace.

Su Miaoqing, with a puffed-up expression, led the way with Xiaobai in her arms.

Xiao Yifeng, unaware of the seriousness of the situation, smiled and followed them out.

The sky was still early, with the fresh morning air and a faint mist lingering in the mountains.

The two of them, along with the cat, made their way to the back mountain of Boundless Hall.

The journey was quite long, but as they walked, Su Miaoqing quickly left her displeasure behind.

Her petite, snow-white figure bounced around the lush green mountains like a little elf, full of joy.

As for Xiaobai, the snow-white cat, it darted around her feet, occasionally turning back to playfully scare Xiao Yifeng.

Watching Su Miaoqing's lively demeanor, Xiao Yifeng felt a sense of relief.

Such an innocent and adorable senior sister, who would grow up to be so beautiful, what boy wouldn't like her?

In his previous life, due to his lack of talent and status, he felt extremely inferior, believing he wasn't worthy of his senior sister.

Thus, he buried his admiration deep in his heart, never expressing it.

Perhaps in the end, Su Miaoqing never knew that her foolish junior brother once liked her.

Later, Su Miaoqing met Xuanyi, who was equally talented and handsome, and they fell in love at first sight.

In the end, their marriage engagement, half for politics and half for love, became a celebrated story.

But at the engagement banquet, the heartbroken junior brother, aside from Master's Wife's brief consolation, was left unnoticed by everyone else.
