Mo Daoxian waited a while longer. Seeing that all the seed disciples had arrived, he finally spoke, "Back in the day, the Dao Sect faced a great calamity, nearly leading to its annihilation. It was thanks to the forebears of the Dao Sect who left behind a spark that we have the Dao Sect today. Though weakened, it still stands. Now, our Dao Sect faces another great calamity. I wish to emulate our predecessors and leave behind a spark for the Dao Sect."

Xu Wuzhou was bewildered by these words, and before he could speak, Zhang Danian beside him urgently asked, "Sect Master, what calamity does our Dao Sect face?"

Mo Daoxian replied, "I have received news that many Daoist factions across the world are gathering at the Immortal Pavilion, plotting something against our Dao Sect."

These words left many disciples with strange expressions. They knew well what the Immortal Pavilion was—having once vied for the leadership of the Daoist world with the Dao Sect and failed. Ever since, it had coveted that leadership. The calamity that befell the Dao Sect back then was also largely related to the Immortal Pavilion.
