Chapter 11 – Pyrrhic victory

Under Han Wu's divine command, a total of 2.6 billion locusts took flight, covering the sky like an endless black cloud, attacking the Red Goblin army.

Facing the massive locust attack, the Red Goblin army refused to back down.

Fireballs gathered on their claws and were launched at the locusts.

Each fireball could turn dozens of locusts into ashes.

Every second, hundreds of thousands of locusts were annihilated.

Yet, the Red Goblins suffered minimal casualties.

Han Wu's divine avatar observed everything, and at the right moment, he issued another divine command.

"Self-Detonating Locusts, attack!"

Five million Self-Detonating Locusts launched a suicide attack on the Red Goblin army under the cover of ordinary locusts.

The sound of explosions was incessant.

The Red Goblin army finally suffered damage; under the attack of five million Self-Detonating Locusts, 6,000 Red Goblins were injured to varying degrees, and 400 were directly killed.

But for the entire Red Goblin army, numbering over ten thousand, this damage was insignificant, and they still had ample forces to fight.

With no other options, Han Wu had to use his trump card.

"Release the Bursting Pulp Locusts."

The accumulated 400,000 Bursting Pulp Locusts braved the rain of fireballs, breaking into the Red Goblin camp and exploding.

A vast area of magma turned the Red Goblin army's location into a hell of lava.

Some injured Red Goblins were continuously burned by the high temperatures and ultimately perished in this lava zone.

However, the Red Goblins were, after all, fire-type elite lifeforms.

Many Red Goblins managed to withstand the high-temperature damage, rushing out of the lava zone and preserving their lives.

The death of 400,000 Bursting Pulp Locusts only claimed the lives of 3,000 Red Goblins.

The remaining nearly 6,500 Red Goblins were almost all injured, but they still had the strength to fight.

They followed their mission, charging towards the core of Han Wu's Divine Realm.

The locusts flying everywhere couldn't even stop them.

The teachers and students watching the battle all concluded:

"Han Wu is finished this time. Even though he still has a hero lifeform as a trump card, can it really kill 6,500 Red Goblins?"

"Locusts are ultimately low-level creatures; no matter how well they're cultivated, they can't make it to the stage."

"Let him be arrogant, it's better if the Red Goblin army shatters his Divine Core!"

...

Director Xu Mei couldn't bear to watch any longer, and she wasn't optimistic about Han Wu's situation.

Through a secret channel, Xu Mei transmitted a message to Han Wu: "Han Wu, if you can't hold on, just admit defeat. Failure isn't shameful; only by living can you have the chance to wash away the shame of failure and create glory. I believe that given time, you can rise again."

In response to Xu Mei's suggestion, Han Wu firmly shook his head: "Director Xu, since I've decided to change classes, I'll stick to the end. Even if I have to fight to the last soldier, I won't hesitate."

"Besides, I haven't lost yet."

On the battlefield, the Storm Greatswords were wreaking havoc.

Four Storm Greatswords swung wildly, the vast area resonating with violent sword winds.

The Red Goblin army refused to be outdone.

Under the barrage of fireballs, the Storm Greatswords were also injured.

But the hero lifeform, Storm Greatsword, stood firm with its robust physique.

The four Storm Greatswords never stopped their frenzied dance, and any Red Goblin approaching the Divine Core faced a fatal blow.

The land around the Divine Core was stained red with blood.

Many students watching couldn't bear the bloody scene and automatically exited the viewing.

The battle's trend became increasingly apparent.

The hero lifeform, Storm Greatsword, was strong, but it was hard to withstand the siege of 6,500 Red Goblins.

Under the nearly endless fireball attacks, the Storm Greatsword was covered in scars, blood scabs everywhere, its strength exhausted, using its four swords as shields to barely protect its body.

Anyone with a discerning eye could see it was on the brink of death.

Around it, over 5,000 Red Goblin corpses testified to the intensity of the slaughter.

Yet the end was near.

The remaining over 1,000 Red Goblins gathered fireballs to deliver the final blow to this tenacious hero.

Watching, Liu Letian couldn't hide the satisfaction on his face, as if he already saw the hero lifeform's tragic death and the shattering of Han Wu's Divine Core.

But at that moment, the ground trembled.

The Red Goblins stopped their fireballs, looking towards the source of the sound.

They saw a fully armed dwarf army charging out of the forest.

Their numbers were small, only 900.

But they were clad in full iron armor, wielding weapons like war hammers and battle axes.

"Protect our god!" The leading dwarf elder shouted loudly.

The 900 dwarves responded in unison, their low roars like a battle song, shaking the heart.

The remaining over 1,000 Red Goblins were stunned by the scene, and by the time they reacted, the dwarves' hammers were already upon them.

"Kill!"

The dwarf elder swung his great hammer, smashing a Red Goblin's head, blood splattering instantly.

The following dwarves caught up, engaging the Red Goblins in battle.

Instantly, shouts and explosions rang out again.

The battle once again entered a stalemate.

The spectators were all shocked.

Surveying the entire Divine Realm, they hadn't noticed that besides the core followers, the locusts, Han Wu had also raised a dwarf army.

And judging by the dwarves' fully armed stance, they must have been cultivated for some time.

A keen-eyed teacher noticed that these dwarves seemed familiar, and upon closer inspection, weren't they Zhang Bin's core followers before?

In just two days, they had been cultivated by Han Wu into loyal followers.

"A talent! With such ability, he can easily rank in the top ten of the grade." This teacher was tempted.

Han Wu initiated the test to change classes.

If such a talent were brought into his class, it would be like picking up a top student for free.

Having a top ten student in the class would surely boost the semester's educational evaluation, and the rewards would be plentiful.

"If Han Wu can successfully pass the test, I must bring him into my class!" The teacher thought to himself.

Other teachers had the same idea.

They were just waiting for the final test results to see if Han Wu could pass.

In Han Wu's Divine Realm, the sounds of slaughter grew fewer.

Every fallen dwarf and Red Goblin tugged at the viewers' hearts.

Who would win?

Soon, the answer was revealed.

The last Red Goblin had its head smashed by the dwarf elder.

Han Wu's side achieved the final victory.

However, this victory was destined to be a pyrrhic one.

Under Han Wu's command, nearly all the locusts were wiped out, and the 900-strong dwarf army suffered heavy casualties, with only 54 dwarves surviving.

The only consolation was that the hero lifeform, Storm Greatsword, did not die.

"Han Wu wins!"

As the spectators were still savoring the moment, Director Xu Mei announced the result.

She herself was quite shocked by this outcome, even finding it hard to believe.

She could only say that Han Wu's victory was a miracle.

In the Divine Realm, Han Wu released two waves of Growth Acceleration to help the surviving followers recover. Then he exited the Divine Realm, stepping out of the Divine Realm login pod.

The small classroom was already crowded with homeroom teachers from various classes.

They looked eagerly at the three who passed the test, extending sincere invitations.

"Qin Shuang, come to my class. I have resources most suitable for Thunder Sparrows to quickly enhance your followers."

"Zhang Xiaolong, I have secret methods for cultivating monster-type followers. If you join my class, I'll share them with you."

"Han Wu, come to my class. I'm willing to provide you with a stronger dwarf army."

...

Under the enthusiastic invitations from the homeroom teachers, Zhang Xiaolong didn't answer rashly but looked at Qin Shuang.

Qin Shuang, however, was looking at Han Wu.

The homeroom teachers immediately realized that whether they could bring the top students into their class depended on Han Wu.

Facing the invitations from the homeroom teachers, Han Wu turned to Director Xu Mei and asked, "Director Xu, can I ask why my test was so difficult?"

Xu Mei replied, "The difficulty of individual tests is decided by all the homeroom teachers in the grade."

For a moment, the ten homeroom teachers who chose the highest difficulty for Han Wu were speechless.

"I want to see their voting results," Han Wu said.

Xu Mei found the voting results and showed them to Han Wu.

Among the twelve homeroom teachers present, nine had embarrassed expressions, silently cursing Liu Letian countless times.

The remaining two, one was relieved to have abstained, and the other was sizing up Han Wu.

"Two teachers, if I join your class, what can you offer me?" Han Wu asked the two homeroom teachers directly after seeing the votes.

Han Wu sought resources by entering a class.

Teachers accepted Han Wu for performance.

Both sides had their needs.

Han Wu was confident that his performance in the test could earn him a higher value.

The two homeroom teachers appreciated Han Wu's directness and responded.

"Han Wu, today's test showed me your ability in cultivating dwarf followers. If you join my class, I can provide you with a team of no less than ten thousand dwarves. With this team, you can surely secure a top ten position in the grade, and entering a top university is not a dream."

The other homeroom teacher said, "Cultivating core followers is the most important. I have several resources that are very useful for insect-type followers. If you join my class, I'll help you achieve a life transition for the entire locust follower race."

Both homeroom teachers offered high stakes.

But to Han Wu, the second homeroom teacher made more sense.

Core followers are the most important.

"Teacher, may I know your name?" Han Wu asked the second homeroom teacher.

"Tian Wen," the homeroom teacher Tian Wen replied.

Han Wu immediately stated, "Teacher Tian Wen, I am willing to join your class."

Before Tian Wen could respond, Qin Shuang followed up, "Teacher Tian Wen, I am also willing to join your class."

Zhang Xiaolong quickly added, "Teacher Tian Wen, please let me join your class."

Tian Wen's mouth dropped open, his face a mix of surprise and joy.

A triple success.

This was the path to winning the excellent teacher award this year!
