Chapter 13 – Luke Cage Unleashed!

Seeing Luo Mang, Rackham appeared even more enthusiastic.

The two walked into the prison, chatting as they went.

"Mr. Stark said you want to enter the Raft?"

"Just as you heard," Luo Mang nodded.

"But the only ones who can enter the Raft are either criminals or prison guards."

Rackham's eyes held a meaningful look, which Luo Mang instantly understood.

"I'll personally give you a million dollars for each day I stay."

"Hahaha, you're too understanding. It just so happens that a prison guard was recently dismissed."

Rackham laughed heartily, the gloom in his eyes dissipating almost entirely.

Rackham turned to the guard following them and shouted loudly.

"Soya, take our esteemed guest down to change clothes!"

"Mr. Luo, please."

Nodding to Rackham, Luo Mang followed Soya away.

Watching Luo Mang's back, Rackham turned and unceremoniously struck a new prisoner in front of him with his baton.

"This is my territory. You all have to listen to me, understand?!"

......

"As a prison guard, many of the rules here aren't really rules.

You just need to remember one thing, and that's to listen to Rackham."

Soya led Luo Mang to the locker room with an expressionless face, his words full of admiration for Rackham.

"Of course."

Luo Mang squinted, not showing a hint of dissatisfaction.

From his observations along the way, Luo Mang had figured it out.

They didn't care about his real purpose for being here, as long as the money was right, everything was negotiable.

This actually made things easier for Luo Mang.

Indeed.

This was one of Luo Mang's plans.

To be precise, a modified version of one of his plans.

Ever since Luo Mang acquired the 'Lizard Serum,' he had a deep-seated intuition and desire.

Perhaps the effects of NZT-48 had undergone some subtle changes.

Luo Mang naturally believed he could undergo more diverse mutation experiments and fully integrate them.

So Luo Mang set his sights on another person.

Luke Cage.

Known as the man with the toughest skin in the Marvel Universe.

Jokingly said to die from appendicitis because his skin is too tough for surgery.

And 'super strength' and 'tough skin' are Luke's only two abilities.

Tough enough to handle 150 pounds of TNT without a scratch.

Although the term 'toughest' might be exaggerated, for Luo Mang at this moment, it was a decent ability.

With tough skin and strong regenerative abilities, at least Luo Mang wouldn't be as fragile as Deadpool.

With 'super strength,' even if not on par with Spider-Man, he'd have enough power to protect himself!

Arriving at the locker room, Luo Mang changed into a prison guard uniform.

His demeanor changed dramatically!

Under the uniform, Luo Mang felt a sense of incongruity, as if he didn't belong in these clothes.

After picking up the radio and emergency weapons, Luo Mang headed straight to the guard plaza.

As Soya said, there were no real rules for prison guards here.

Although Luo Mang was a new face.

When the other guards saw the uniform on Luo Mang, they withdrew their gazes, not paying much attention.

"Is that Luke Cage?"

Luo Mang thought to himself, maintaining a calm expression as he looked at the solitary figure in the plaza.

With curly hair, skin as dark as night, and a beastly face, he stood out even in a crowd.

Seeing the wounds on Luke's face, Luo Mang's heart stirred.

If nothing unexpected happened.

Luke was currently being coerced by Rackham into participating in illegal underground boxing matches.

If so, the day for Luke's human experimentation wouldn't be far off.

In the days that followed.

When Luke was out in the yard, Luo Mang would be in the prison plaza.

When Luke returned to the prison, Luo Mang would go back as well.

This was Rackham's territory; pretending wouldn't work, so it was better to be straightforward.

Soon, a week passed.

All the guards looked strangely at this oddball with a white book.

"Have you heard? This guy gave Rackham seven million dollars!"

"What exactly is he doing? Just reading?"

"I don't know. Hey, why don't you go ask him?"

"Whatever I get is mine!"

The guards' whispers naturally didn't escape Luo Mang's keen hearing.

Soon, a group of three, led by a burly guard, approached Luo Mang with ill intentions.

"Hey, kid, how's life been after a week here?"

"Not bad."

Basking in the sunlight, Luo Mang looked up, his face innocent and harmless.

Luo Mang's demeanor immediately stifled Kevin's words.

For some reason, looking at Luo Mang, Kevin felt a sense of powerlessness, like punching cotton.

Glancing at his companions, Kevin looked at Luo Mang with some annoyance and said loudly.

"I heard you like giving people money. How about giving me some too?

How about... a million dollars?"

Kevin slowly approached Luo Mang, staring into Luo Mang's eerie green eyes, feeling a bit creeped out.

But with the other guards watching, Kevin couldn't back down.

Forcing himself to maintain his composure, Kevin's grip on his baton tightened, veins bulging.

If Luo Mang's next words were even slightly displeasing, the baton would come down.

But Luo Mang's next words made Kevin doubt his ears.

"Sure."

Looking at the anonymous card in his hand, Kevin felt a sense of unreality.

A million dollars, just like that?

Even the other guards watching from a distance exchanged glances.

Their greedy eyes on Luo Mang, the darkness in their hearts growing infinitely.

"All of it! I want all the money you have!"

Kevin's breathing grew rapid, a million dollars was nearly ten years' salary for him!

"But... I want to keep some."

Luo Mang responded calmly, but this sentence made Kevin's expression instantly contort with rage.

Kevin was now almost certain that Luo Mang was just a rich coward!

Every year, there were always a few in prison, and he hadn't expected to run into one.

"You have no right to speak here, hand over the money!"

Kevin swung his baton fiercely at Luo Mang's head, along with his two companions.

They had clearly seen how easily Luo Mang had given money earlier, and if they got their hands on it...

But then a scene that made Kevin's eyes widen unfolded.

The baton that was supposed to hit Luo Mang's head was somehow caught in Luo Mang's hand.

Seeing his empty hand, a look of confusion flashed in Kevin's eyes.

In contrast, Luo Mang, playing with the baton in his hand, spoke regretfully.

"Isn't a million enough?

Why can't you control your hands?"

"You..."

Kevin was about to speak, but the next second, all he heard was a 'crack.'

"Ah... ah... ah!!!"

The sudden pain, like that anonymous card, felt unreal.

But at this moment, it was happening to Kevin, undeniably real.

In just the blink of an eye, Kevin's arm twisted at a 90-degree angle.

White bone, streaked with blood and muscle tissue, pierced out from Kevin's arm.

The six-foot-three man, in front of Luo Mang, was like bread being torn apart.

"Oh, I forgot about you two."

Luo Mang's 'sudden realization' appeared demonic to the remaining two.

Two more 'crack' sounds and screams quickly drew the attention of many prisoners.

By the time they looked over.

All they could see were the once-arrogant guards kneeling before Luo Mang.

The white book in Luo Mang's hand was now speckled with blood.

The once gentle smile now seemed terrifying to everyone present.

Everyone felt a chill in their hearts, as if plunged into an icy abyss!
