Chapter 10 – The Escape Plan from the Treatment Room

(The surgery is complete. You are wheeled out of the operating room.)

(You struggle to wake up.)

(You feel a sharp pain in your chest. Your limbs are weak and sore, and you can't move properly.)

(The doctors push you into the Special Care Ward you were in before.)

(You lie down on the bed.)

(You feel your body growing lighter. You struggle to get up from the bed and see your doppelgänger slowly taking form.)

(You're out of time.)

(The anesthesia hasn't worn off yet. You struggle out of bed, take the clothes from the second drawer of the nightstand, and scatter them randomly on the floor.)

(Your heart is pounding.)

(You turn your head.)

(Your doppelgänger has fully formed.)

(He smiles at you.)

(Your pupils dilate.)

(You are scared to death.)

(Deduction complete!)

"Hah!"

Gu Yi sucked in a sharp breath, clutching his heaving chest, his brow tightly furrowed.

Died just like that again, without any rhyme or reason!

By now, Gu Yi had used up all his deduction attempts. He had no more chances for trial and error.

What on earth did I miss?

Gu Yi gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, racking his brain for every detail. What clue had he failed to consider?

The footsteps of a Deer-Headed Person passed by the window.

Gu Yi's eyes snapped open. Gritting his teeth, he pulled out the fruit knife.

*There's no time to hesitate. It's death either way. My only chance of survival is to get out of this treatment room first!*

...

The real world.

The audience stared intently at their screens, watching Gu Yi bypass every death flag as if he were a god.

When Gu Yi cleverly saw through the shopkeeper's cheating trick, the entire stream erupted.

"This kid is way too smart, isn't he?"

"I had to watch the replay three times to catch the shopkeeper's sleight of hand. How did Gu Yi spot it on the first try?"

"He's like a prophet!"

Gu Yi smoothly made it to the afternoon treatment session. Everyone was glued to their screens, unwilling to miss a single detail.

At this point, Gu Yi was already lying in a treatment pod.

A Deer-Headed Person took away a female patient, and the experts from the Dragon Nation were in a heated discussion.

"What exactly is Gu Yi's ability? Has anyone figured it out?"

"It must be some kind of cognitive ability, right? He can discern details that are hard for ordinary people to notice."

"I think that's very likely. And it's not just cognitive; it might even be precognition. Don't you remember? At the very beginning, he didn't even find the hint slip, but he still figured out the correct way to clear the Dungeon right away."

The experts' brows were furrowed in thought.

According to their analysis, the Deer-Headed People were the most dangerous group in the entire Dungeon.

Being taken away by a Deer-Headed Person was a one-way ticket to death!

Gu Yi hadn't awakened a strength-type Innate Skill; there was no way he could escape from the treatment pod.

"I'm afraid... this is probably Gu Yi's limit, isn't it?"

"Wait, what is this kid doing?"

"My God, he's killing himself!"

Lying in the treatment pod, Gu Yi plunged the fruit knife into his own chest.

The live chat was a torrent of despair.

"Sigh, this Adventurer couldn't hold on any longer."

"We're going to be invaded by the Weird World again."

"Rest in peace..."

"Let's just immigrate to the Lighthouse Nation. I heard they've already developed technology to fight the Weird World in reality."

The experts from the Dragon Nation all began to take off their hats in a gesture of respect.

Gu Yi wasn't the first Adventurer to commit suicide in the Weird World, and he wouldn't be the last.

The head of the Strategy Group stared intently at the screen. He slammed his fist on the table and roared:

"You bunch of useless idiots! Gu Yi hasn't given up, so why have you? He's seeking life from a place of certain death! He's not committing suicide at all!"

...

The Weird World.

Gu Yi plunged the knife deep into his chest. Blood gushed out.

He let out a muffled grunt, gritting his teeth.

Even though he had already experienced it once during his deduction, feeling the pain in reality still nearly made him pass out.

"Help!"

Gu Yi pounded on the pod's door.

Just as in his deduction, a nurse quickly ran over and got him out.

The doctors frantically carried Gu Yi into the operating room.

This time, because Gu Yi had stabbed himself so viciously, he passed out before they even reached the Emergency Room.

The surgery was a success.

When Gu Yi was wheeled out of the operating room, he was already at the entrance to the Special Care Ward.

Gu Yi's eyes flew open. He immediately reached out and grabbed a doctor's arm. "Doctor, wait."

"What is it?"

"I'm the only one in this ward!"

"How is that possible? There were two people in this ward before tonight. You must be mistaken."

"Then... can you let me switch to a different ward?" Gu Yi pleaded. "My fellow patient is a bit... problematic."

"The hospital has its rules. If you want to change wards, you'll have to wait until after dinner. Go on in and rest."

The doctors carried Gu Yi into the ward and tossed him onto the bed.

They briefly asked about his post-operative condition and then left the ward.

After they had gone, Gu Yi clearly began to feel that something was wrong.

The temperature in the ward started to drop, and his own body felt progressively lighter, as if he might float away at any moment.

The anesthesia still hadn't worn off. He swayed and tumbled off the bed.

On the bed, a transparent figure was gradually taking shape.

Based on his experience, if he couldn't solve the puzzle within three minutes, he would be literally scared to death.

Gu Yi had been unconscious in the operating room, so his Spirit Power hadn't recovered at all. It was impossible to rely on his deduction skill to get through this crisis.

Now, he could only rely on himself!

"Calm down, calm down. Think, what did I miss?"

Gu Yi closed his eyes and recalled everything in detail.

His Innate Skill not only gave him the ability to foresee the future but also an astonishing memory.

He could remember every single detail from his deductions perfectly.

On the bed, his doppelgänger grew clearer and clearer. Its facial features were starting to form.

Gu Yi's eyes snapped open. He took the clothes out of the nightstand.

He scattered the clothes on the floor just as they had been when he first entered the Dungeon, even trying to replicate the wrinkles.

The doppelgänger's limbs became distinct. Gu Yi could even see its fingers twitching.

"What else is missing?"

Gu Yi roared through gritted teeth. He stumbled and fell, kneeling before the bed and staring blankly at the corner of the room.

Over there...

Wasn't there something else?

That's it!

Wasn't there a cardboard box in the room?

Didn't I move it to the corner?

Where is the box now?

A flash of inspiration struck Gu Yi. He suddenly understood the crux of the problem!

"That's right, it's the box! It has to be the box!"

Gu Yi struggled to his feet and began searching every corner of the ward.

But just then—

Gu Yi's doppelgänger's legs finally formed!

The doppelgänger slowly opened its eyes, sat up straight on the bed, and a strange smile hung on its lips
