Su Ming cautiously glanced at the woman.
She had changed into a red spaghetti strap dress and was leaning against the railing, smoking a cigarette, her eyes lazily scanning the passing pedestrians. Soon, she turned her face and saw Su Ming. The moment she saw him, she was visibly startled, then quickly turned away, pretending to look at the scenery.
"That scared me! Thankfully, this woman knows some shame!" Su Ming's heart skipped a beat, and he hurriedly looked away.
"What's wrong?" Qiu Tong noticed his odd behavior and followed his gaze. "Did you see someone you know?"
"No, no!" Su Ming quickly shook his head, forcing an awkward smile. "There's nothing much to see here. How about... we go somewhere else?"
Qiu Tong glanced at him and laughed, "This is the busiest place in town. Let me show you around properly." She deliberately lowered her voice, teasingly adding, "There are plenty of beauties here, perfect for you to feast your eyes on."
Su Ming was speechless, but since his cousin-in-law insisted on staying, he had no choice but to accompany her, praying that the woman wouldn't come over.
Unknowingly, more than ten minutes passed. Su Ming noticed that the woman had kept her back to them, seemingly not intending to cause trouble, and his tense nerves finally relaxed a bit.
However, he was happy for less than five minutes before something unexpected happened as he continued to stroll forward.
Seven or eight figures suddenly emerged from behind the flower wall ahead. They were all young men, some with dyed yellow hair, others with tattooed arms, all holding steel pipes and looking menacing.
Leading them was the woman in the red spaghetti strap dress. There was no trace of panic on her face; instead, she wore a smug, cold smile, pointing directly at Su Ming.
"That punk is up front. Let's go get him!"
Seeing this, Qiu Tong's face changed dramatically, and she instinctively pushed Su Ming behind her, stepping forward herself.
"What are you doing?" Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a chilling aura.
The seductive woman sneered, pointing her finger in the air. "Ask your good little brother here. He took me to a room during the day, stripped me naked, ogled my body, and didn't pay."
"I didn't!" Su Ming was trembling with anger, poking his head out from behind Qiu Tong and shouting, "She's lying!"
"Still denying it?" The woman raised an eyebrow, her voice suddenly louder, drawing the attention of passersby. "I was lying naked on the bed, letting you look all you wanted, and you just walked away without paying thirty bucks. Are you even a man?"
"You're lying!" Su Ming's eyes were red. "You seduced me! I just said I wanted to get a certificate, and you took me to a room to do that kind of thing! And I didn't even do anything with you!"
"True, you didn't do anything." The woman laughed, her smile full of mockery. "But I was already undressed, and we agreed on the price. If you didn't do it, it means you can't! Useless, even if given the chance, you couldn't do it."
The words "can't" pierced Su Ming's ears like needles. Especially being told this in front of his cousin-in-law, he felt a rush of blood to his head.
"Who says I can't!" He shouted, his neck stiff, "I'm very capable! I just didn't want to do it with you because you're too ugly!"
As soon as he said this, the woman's smile froze on her face.
The next second, her entire face twisted. No woman likes being called ugly.
"Fuck you!" She screamed, "You blame me for being ugly because you can't perform? Go to hell!"
With that, she reached out to grab Su Ming's face, her nails sharp and red.
Su Ming reacted quickly, swatting her hand away. The woman stumbled back a couple of steps.
"You son of a bitch!" She yelled furiously, steadying herself before shouting at the group of men beside her, "Beat him! Kill that bastard."
"Beat him!"
"Get him!"
Seven or eight thugs shouted, brandishing their steel pipes as they surrounded him.
"Stop!"
A cold shout, like ice water being poured down.
Qiu Tong stepped forward, completely shielding Su Ming behind her. Her expression was indifferent as she scanned the crowd, her gaze finally landing on the woman's face, her voice terrifyingly calm, "You just want money, right? Name your price, as long as it's not too much."
The woman was momentarily stunned, then smiled smugly, "Straightforward! Fine, give us five hundred bucks!"
"Impossible," Qiu Tong said flatly.
"This lady!" A man with dyed yellow hair, who seemed to be the leader, stepped forward, grinning insincerely. "Your brother is in the wrong here, causing our lady to lose face and making us come here for nothing. We have to be paid for our time, and five hundred isn't much."
"Exactly!"
"Five hundred is already cheap for him!"
The thugs chimed in.

Qiu Tong's face darkened, raising her head and speaking each word clearly, "Two hundred at most. I won't give a penny more."
She paused, her eyes suddenly sharp, "If you want to make a scene, then go ahead. I don't mind playing with you."
As she said this, she crossed her arms, exuding a fierce aura from her brow. It wasn't a bluff, but the confidence of someone who had weathered storms and seen the world.
The scene fell silent for a moment.
The thugs exchanged glances, hesitation in their eyes. They were just doing a job for money, and it might not be worth it to provoke someone tough.
The woman exchanged a look with the yellow-haired leader. After a few seconds, the leader nodded, "Fine, two hundred it is."
Qiu Tong said no more, pulling two hundred-yuan bills from her bag and handing them over.
The yellow-haired man took the money, flicked it in his hand, and grinned, "You're straightforward, lady. Let's go!"
The seductive woman in the spaghetti strap dress also turned, casting a cold smile at Su Ming before swaying her hips and leaving triumphantly.
The group dispersed quickly, disappearing into the night.
The onlookers gradually left as well. The area under the overpass returned to calm, with only the flashing neon lights and the endless flow of traffic remaining.
Qiu Tong stood still, her back to Su Ming, not moving for a long time. Her chest rose and fell slightly, showing that she was angry and perhaps thinking about something.
"Cousin-in-law..." Su Ming called her softly.
Qiu Tong slowly turned around.
The streetlight illuminated her face, her expression frighteningly calm, her eyes seemingly frozen. She glanced coldly at Su Ming, uttering two words, "Let's go!"
Su Ming was pierced by the chill in her gaze, his heart trembling. He cautiously asked, "To, to where?"
Qiu Tong suddenly laughed. The smile was cold, filled with sarcasm, disappointment, and a complex emotion Su Ming couldn't understand.
"Didn't you want to play with women?" Her voice was light but every word was clear, "I'll take you now. I guarantee they'll be more seductive and beautiful than that woman."
With that, she turned and walked away, her high heels clicking decisively on the ground.
Su Ming stood there, watching her back, feeling a chill rise from his feet.
The night wind blew, and he shivered.
Could his cousin-in-law really be taking him to play with women?
