"Su Ming! Quick, put on your pants and clothes!" Qiu Tong, his cousin-in-law, heard the urgent knocking at the door and couldn't help but panic. She hurriedly got up from the bed and urged, "Quick, put away the mat too!"

After saying this, she tidied her hair and quickly walked towards the living room.

Su Ming was taken aback, sensing something was wrong. He clumsily got up from the bamboo mat, quickly put on his jeans, and had just fastened the loose belt when he was fumbling with the shirt buttons. The lock on the living room door clicked open.

He hadn't had time to put away the mat when a slightly plump middle-aged man entered Qiu Tong's rented apartment.

The man wore a crisp short-sleeved shirt, his hair meticulously combed. His gaze swept across the room and finally fixed on Su Ming, who was disheveled with half-buttoned clothes. His eyes were like ice picks—cold and sharp, filled with undisguised suspicion and jealousy.

"Who is he? What were you two doing in the room?" The man glanced at the somewhat embarrassed Su Ming, then looked at the bamboo mat on the floor that hadn't been put away, and immediately turned to Qiu Tong. His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable authority.

"Oh, come on! Why are you jealous?" Qiu Tong immediately moved closer, her face plastered with a nearly ingratiating smile, and she wrapped her arm around the man's. Her voice softened a few notches, "This is my cousin, just arrived from our hometown. He's just a kid, only eighteen, six years younger than me!" She twisted her slender waist, her softness pressing against the man's arm. "He just came from home, the living room is too hot, and there's no air conditioning. I let him sleep in the room for a nap this afternoon. What are you thinking? Are you really going to fuss over a kid?"

The man's expression softened slightly, and he grunted from his nose, his gaze returning to Su Ming's face with scrutiny. "What's your name?"

"Su Ming!" Su Ming lowered his head, avoiding the man's gaze. Being misunderstood as having an affair for the first time, he couldn't help but feel awkward.

"Alright, I was just asking! Let's go, into the room." The man smiled, extending his arm naturally to wrap around Qiu Tong's waist, half-hugging her into the bedroom.

"Click!" The door closed and was locked from the inside.

Su Ming felt a bit disoriented, unable to accept that the cousin-in-law he remembered as pure and ethereal, like a fairy, was involved with another man.

Although his cousin had passed away in a car accident over two years ago, and technically Qiu Tong had the right to seek her own love, she was once the most beautiful among all the relatives, like a star. She was gentle, generous, and when she married his cousin, she had a prestigious job with an official position. She had always given Su Ming an impression of being otherworldly and pure. But today, she had become a stranger, doing such things with another man right in front of him. This created a huge gap in Su Ming's heart. He felt both unjust for his cousin and disappointed at the fall of his goddess.

A few minutes later, the sound of the man's heavy breathing and Qiu Tong's soft moans came from the room, followed by the creaking of the spring mattress.

Su Ming stood frozen, his shirt still unbuttoned. His ears buzzed, and his face flushed with heat.

This was just too disrespectful! Damn it, what kind of situation is this? Maybe I should knock and stop them!

But they were already at it. Even if he stopped them this time, what difference would it make? His cousin was no longer alive. Could he really expect Qiu Tong to never be with another man? Sigh, forget it, let's see what's going on first!

A mix of shock, shame, and inexplicable anger surged within him, driving Su Ming to quietly move closer to the door, trying to hear more clearly.

However, just as he got close to the door, the noises inside suddenly stopped.

"Sigh... I'm not in great shape today, maybe I didn't sleep well last night..."

"It's okay, you were really great."

Qiu Tong's gentle voice came from the room, as if comforting the man.

Su Ming moved even closer.

"I'll be on a business trip to another province for a while, so I won't be coming over. Take care of yourself." The man's voice returned to its cold tone, and the sound of rustling clothes indicated he was getting dressed.

Su Ming hurriedly stepped back, nearly bumping into the coffee table in the living room.

The man opened the door and came out, his clothes neat again, not a hair out of place. He glanced at Su Ming, who had retreated to the wall, and casually asked, "Have you had dinner?"

"No..." Su Ming shook his head, curiously observing the man. His intuition told him this man was no ordinary person.

The man pulled a hundred-yuan bill from his wallet and handed it over. "Take it, go have dinner with your cousin later!"

Su Ming's lips moved, wanting to say "she's my cousin-in-law, not cousin," but Qiu Tong had already come out of the bedroom, quickly took the money, and stuffed it into Su Ming's hand. "Take it if he gives it to you!"

Her silk nightgown was a bit disheveled, the top two buttons undone, revealing a fair expanse, the cleavage clearly visible. Her hair was messy, and her face was still flushed.

Seeing his cousin-in-law like this, the image of her being pressed under the middle-aged man immediately flashed in Su Ming's mind. His hand recoiled as if burned, and he shook his head stubbornly. "I don't want it!"

His cousin-in-law sleeping with another man was one thing, but taking money from him felt like a betrayal to his cousin!

The man merely glanced at Su Ming indifferently, then turned to Qiu Tong and said, "I'm leaving!"

His tone was as flat as if he were handling a routine task. After speaking, he opened the door and walked out, closing it with a bang, leaving the stagnant air behind.

Su Ming slowly turned his head, his gaze coldly fixed on Qiu Tong. She was instinctively raising a hand to smooth her messy hair, while the other hand hurriedly buttoned her nightgown. With her movements, the fabric clung to her body, outlining the vacuum beneath.

Honestly, his cousin-in-law was truly beautiful, with a model-like figure—tall, fair, with a full chest and a perky bottom. Her body curves were nearly perfect, and from behind, she swayed like a mermaid when she walked. The key was her face, which was exceptionally beautiful, not losing to any movie star.

Enough, enough, she's a bad woman. No matter how beautiful, she's still with another man. She's no longer my cousin-in-law.

Su Ming quickly withdrew his thoughts, his voice tinged with suppressed resentment. "Is this how you treat my cousin?"

"Heh, it seems you have a lot of opinions about me!" Qiu Tong paused her buttoning, a bitter smile spreading from her lips to her eyes. "So what do you think I should do? Stay single forever, or wait five or ten years before remarrying?"

"Well... I... I don't know..." Su Ming shook his head, his face flushed.

"Look at you, acting like I've wronged you by being with another man." Qiu Tong sneered. "You can't expect me to never find another man, can you?"

Su Ming lowered his head, realizing his own unreasonable behavior. Yes, his cousin was gone, and his cousin-in-law finding another man was her right. Besides, being alone in a foreign place, loneliness was inevitable. Wanting a man was normal.

He raised his face, trying to change the subject, and timidly asked, "Cousin-in-law, who was that man just now?"

"Don't ask what you shouldn't. I promised your mom to help you find a job, not to investigate my personal life." Qiu Tong interrupted him, her tone suddenly turning cold, carrying an untouchable distance.
