Chapter 2 – Stunning beauties

The sky was a pure, unblemished blue, and the fresh air was intoxicating. All around, the mountains rose and fell, lush green trees stood quietly, and flowers and grass adorned the landscape. Occasionally, a breeze would blow, bringing with it a burst of floral fragrance.

A babbling stream flowed past Luo Lie's feet, the sound seemingly resonating deep within his soul.

He looked around, bewildered.

"Where is this?

How did I end up here?

Was it because of the Holy Ancestor?"

Filled with confusion, Luo Lie crouched down, scooped up some water, and washed his face, hoping to clear his mind. Through the water, he saw that he was wearing ancient attire, and not just any kind, but a very luxurious one.

He looked down to inspect.

Indeed, his clothes had transformed into ancient garments, a martial attire with a blue base embroidered with dragon patterns. On his feet were black leather boots, and he wore a red-tassel crown on his head.

With his handsome face, he exuded an indescribable aura of a dashing young noble.

While he was still puzzled by all of this, the sound of chaotic footsteps came from afar.

Soon, he heard urgent calls.

"Young Prince!"

"Young Prince, where are you?"

The voices came from several directions, as people spread out to search.

Luo Lie stood up and looked into the distance, even more confused by the address "Young Prince," as such a term was unheard of in modern times.

Once he stood upright, taller than the grass in front of him, he was immediately spotted.

"Young Prince! I found the Young Prince, over here."

A tall man dressed as a guard shouted loudly.

The people searching scattered around looked over, and upon seeing Luo Lie, they rushed over in a flurry.

The fastest was a middle-aged man in his forties, wearing leather armor, with dark skin and a thick black beard under his chin. Upon seeing Luo Lie, he knelt on one knee with an excited expression.

The others also knelt down.

"Greetings, Young Prince!"

Luo Lie blinked and pointed at his nose, "Me, I'm the Young Prince?"

The middle-aged man raised his head, looked him over, and affirmed, "You are indeed the Young Prince."

"Young Prince? What Young Prince?"

"Naturally, you are the sole heir of King Nanli of the Northern Waters Kingdom, the future King Nanli, Young Prince Luo Lie."

"The sole heir of King Nanli? Luo Lie?!"

Luo Lie's head buzzed, overwhelmed by the situation before him.

His question also left the middle-aged man and the guards puzzled. One of the guards even gestured to his head, prompting the middle-aged man to ponder briefly before saying, "Young Prince, this place is dangerous. We must leave quickly. Forgive us for any offense."

With a wave of his hand, two guards stepped forward to support Luo Lie, and the group swiftly moved away.

It was then that Luo Lie suddenly realized a possibility.

Could it be that he had traveled through time?

***

A carriage sped along the official road.

Inside the carriage, Luo Lie stared blankly at the two stunning beauties before him, his mind in turmoil. He was now certain that he had indeed traveled through time.

After being brought back by the middle-aged man, the two stunning beauties in front of him kept asking him questions, to which Luo Lie was naturally clueless.

The reason he didn't declare that he wasn't the so-called Young Prince was mainly due to the strange nature of his time travel. He shared the same name, wore the clothes of the real Young Prince when he disappeared, and had dreams of the Holy Ancestor. All these events seemed to suggest a predestined path, so he feigned ignorance and was deemed to have lost his memory.

Through this, he learned a lot from the two beauties.

For instance, the middle-aged man was Su Qiusheng, the captain of the Southern Li Royal Palace's guards, and the guards were all from the Southern Li Royal Palace, meaning they were truly the Young Prince's people.

At this moment, Su Qiusheng was leading the guards around the carriage.

As for the two stunning beauties before him, they had significant backgrounds.

The one in the red dress was the current monarch of the Northern Waters Kingdom... Liu Hongyan!

The one in the white dress was Liu Hongyan's closest confidante and childhood bestie... Xue Bingning!

He had traveled to a place called the Yanhuang Continent.

The Yanhuang Continent had two great empires and eight hundred minor kingdoms.

The Northern Waters Kingdom was one of the eight hundred minor kingdoms.

Moreover, this was a world somewhat reminiscent of the Investiture of the Gods, as Liu Hongyan and Xue Bingning mentioned Ji Chang, yet their identities were not the Western First Marquis but the emperor of the Great Zhou Empire, which stood alongside the Great Shang Empire. As for Jiang Ziya, he was already the Grand Marshal of the Great Zhou Empire and was recognized as one of the most extraordinarily talented geniuses of the Yanhuang Continent in a thousand years, no longer the failure depicted in the Investiture of the Gods.

"Your Majesty, is it true that my father is gone?" Luo Lie worried about one issue: if the real Young Prince's parents were still alive, they might discover he was an imposter.

Liu Hongyan sighed softly and said gently, "Luo Lie, when there are no outsiders, you can call me sister. Your parents both died saving me. This time, I traveled secretly to avoid attention, letting you go hunting while I hid among you. But we were discovered, and you, to divert attention, encountered danger, suffered a head injury, and lost your memory. I truly owe you."

"For the monarch, uh, no, for sister, I would go through fire and water without hesitation." Hearing that the Young Prince's parents were no longer around, meaning he wouldn't be exposed, Luo Lie was instantly invigorated, patting his chest and making a bold declaration.

"Who would have thought that after losing your memory, you're so different from before? You used to be quite reserved," Liu Hongyan said.

Luo Lie muttered, "Of course, there's a difference between a loser and a rich, handsome guy."

Liu Hongyan asked, "What did you say?"

"Nothing, I was just thinking about whether I should practice martial arts," Luo Lie expressed a genuine thought.

From Liu Hongyan and Xue Bingning's incomplete introduction, Luo Lie learned that the Yanhuang Continent was a world where martial arts reigned supreme. Despite the monarchs' high status, they were at the mercy of the martial arts supreme saints.

So, to live freely, one must be strong enough.

Of course, Luo Lie also had a thought: he used to be a poor student, so why not become an outstanding one here? If not a saint, then at least someone revered by all.

"You're willing to practice martial arts?" Liu Hongyan said joyfully.

Xue Bingning also showed a look of surprise.

Luo Lie said, "I didn't like it before?"

"You used to detest practicing martial arts, so despite having the Southern Li Body Refining Art passed down by the family, you remained an ordinary person," Liu Hongyan laughed. "It seems your memory loss has its benefits."

"I'm quite interested in martial arts now. If one day I could fly and escape, move mountains and seas, pluck stars and moons, just thinking about it is awesome," Luo Lie said with longing.

"You just want to show off."

"If I don't show off, how can I attract girls? Oh, no, I mean, if I don't show off, how can I protect Sister Hongyan and deter those suitors? Just imagine, with someone as handsome as me standing by your side, those suitors would look at themselves and surely give up in shame."

Liu Hongyan shook her head with a smile, "I must thank you, then." She reached into the Qiankun Bag at her waist and took out a manual, "I happen to have the family martial art you didn't like before, the Southern Li Body Refining Art."

Luo Lie reached out to take it, but a line of words suddenly flashed in his mind.

To achieve the Body Refining Realm, one must practice the Celestial Dragon-Elephant Scripture.

The appearance of this line was abrupt, yet it seemed to be a memory deeply embedded in Luo Lie's mind, reminding him of the Sacred Ancestor's Dreamscape. He had never heard of terms like the Body Refining Realm or the Celestial Dragon-Elephant Scripture, only the mysterious thing that merged into him from the Sacred Ancestor's Dreamscape could have given him such memories.

He couldn't be sure if what the Sacred Ancestor brought was real, so he tentatively said, "I want to practice the Celestial Dragon-Elephant Scripture."
