Chapter 6 – Meet the three rookies again, hehe!

In the narrow cave.

Chen Yao rummaged through his backpack and found some food, probably some wheat cakes and jerky.

Although it wasn't very tasty, there was no choice now.

He wolfed it down to fill his stomach, took a couple of sips of water, and then leaned against the stone wall to rest.

"This other world is too dangerous. Can't I be reborn as a prince, with all the magical and fighting spirit talents?

Without much training, I could become the strongest in this world!

Every day, girls with all sorts of hair colors would throw themselves at me, and I'd show off and slap faces without doing a damn thing!

How awesome would that be!"

***

The next day, Chen Yao woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy.

He had grown taller, now about seventy to eighty centimeters, and his body showed the beginnings of muscles, even with two abs.

Chen Yao was quite satisfied with his transformation and began to inventory his spoils.

A bow and a quiver of arrows.

Several swords and shields.

There was also a mask made of tree bark, with bloody graffiti on it, looking like a terrifying demon, quite mystical.

There was also some food and a few skill books!

"Holy shit! This is good stuff."

These skill books were small parchment scrolls, and Chen Yao opened them directly.

But there were no words on the parchment scrolls, and even when he tried to infuse them with fighting spirit, there was no reaction.

Theft is never good, try looking at bit.ly/3iBfjkV.

"Could it be that I can only absorb others' skills and can't use these skill books?"

He tried several in a row, but there was no reaction, so he had to give up.

Then he took out a leather scroll from his backpack titled "Basic Explanation of Professions and Skills."

This one was full of writing, and Chen Yao could completely understand it.

"Could this be inherited from that cheap mother of mine?"

***

After reading the book, Chen Yao finally had a basic understanding of the world's power system.

Generally speaking, most goblins have no talent for fighting spirit or magic.

However, a small number can train in fighting spirit or magic.

But they are extremely rare, maybe one in millions.

And they often die young, unable to grow up.

But Chen Yao was an exception.

Perhaps he inherited his cheap mother's talent; he could not only train in fighting spirit but also dual cultivate with female animals or human women.

Just by touching bodies, both parties could gain great benefits.

Chen Yao could even absorb the other party's skills.

Whether it was fighting spirit or magic, they were calculated by level.

Level 1 had 10 points of fighting spirit or magic!

Level 2 had 20 points of fighting spirit or magic!

And so on.

To use skills, one must consume fighting spirit.

Each profession has fixed basic skills or basic magic.

The warrior's basic skill is the Horizontal Slash, which consumes 10 points of fighting spirit each time.

That means a level 1 warrior can only perform one Horizontal Slash.

However, level 1 warriors are not very familiar with skills and hardly use them.

They rely on their own strength to eliminate some weak demonic beasts.

The archer's basic skill, Rapid Arrows, can instantly shoot three arrows, with impressive power, also consuming 10 points of fighting spirit.

The same goes for magic.

Mages are very rare in this other world, and ordinary people rarely see them.

Chen Yao didn't pay much attention to it.

"Rapid Arrows can be practiced, but this bow is a bit big, needs some modification..."

The archer's belongings included many tools, just in case.

If the bow and arrows were damaged in battle, they could be repaired on the spot.

This was convenient for Chen Yao.

He took out the tool kit and modified the bow to a small bow suitable for himself.

He tried the feel, and it was not bad, so he shot an arrow at a small tree outside the cave.

But he missed.

Although he had mastered the basic skills, his aim needed practice.

Fortunately, he now had the eyes of an eagle, making practice quite easy, and he was getting better.

Just as he was engrossed in practice, there was a rustling in the grass, and suddenly a three-meter-tall Demon Bear appeared.

Chen Yao was scared stiff.

"Roar!"

The Demon Bear saw the goblin and immediately let out an angry roar.

This was its territory, and after chasing two adventurers for two days, it returned to find a goblin had taken over.

How could it tolerate this?

The Demon Bear roared, exuding overwhelming demonic energy, clearly over level ten.

Without a word, Chen Yao turned and ran; the difference in strength was too great, and staying would be foolish.

The Demon Bear wouldn't let him go easily, roaring and chasing after him.

Despite its massive size, it was incredibly fast, picking up a stone and hurling it fiercely.

Chen Yao heard the wind behind him, instinctively turned, and a huge stone whizzed past his ear.

Boom!

With a loud crash, a massive crater appeared in the ground ahead, leaving Chen Yao stunned.

If that hit him, he'd be a pile of mush.

"Damn Demon Bear, does it think I'm easy to bully?!"

Chen Yao's anger flared, and he became bold.

He stepped on a green stone, leaped into the air, and spun, drawing his bow.

Rapid Arrows!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Three Feather Arrows shot out, infused with fighting spirit, as fast as lightning, heading straight for the Demon Bear.

The Demon Bear didn't expect a small goblin to shoot arrows and was caught off guard.

Thud, thud, thud!

Three dull thuds, all three arrows hit!

But the Demon Bear's thick skin wasn't pierced in a vital spot.

"Roar!"

The pained Demon Bear became even angrier, grabbing several stones and hurling them wildly.

Bang, bang, bang.

Stones rained down like a storm, and Chen Yao used Shadow Step to dodge frantically, but still got cut by flying debris.

Instantly covered in bruises, he looked quite miserable.

Run! Without hesitation, Chen Yao turned and continued to flee.

This Demon Bear was like a cheat, not only thick-skinned but also capable of long-range attacks.

The big and small figures chased through the dense forest, destroying countless things.

Fortunately, Chen Yao was small and had the advantage of Shadow Step, finally shaking off the Demon Bear.

He leaned against a large stone wall, panting heavily, his fighting spirit nearly depleted.

"Damn Demon Bear, just wait until I get a chance, I'll cut off your claws and stew them!"

As he was cursing, he suddenly felt several gazes upon him.

Looking up, he was instantly dumbfounded.

Three young people stood there, staring at him in shock.

He recognized them; they were the three rookies he had encountered last time.

Archer Gret, Warrior Wayne, and Scout Alice.

"Holy shit!"

"Goblin!"

Wayne shouted, a mix of panic and excitement.

They were out on a mission to eliminate some slimes in the fields.

Unexpectedly, they encountered a goblin, and only one at that.

Alice's eyes flashed, memories flooding back, leaving her momentarily stunned.

She had been searching for days, hoping to confirm her suspicions.

But the instructors wouldn't allow it, and she didn't expect to meet it here again.

Of course.

All goblins look alike, so she wasn't sure if it was the same one from last time, but she had to catch it to find out!

If it was true...

Then...

That would be...

Wonderful!
