Chapter 4 – Dual cultivation partner is dead

In the forest.

Chen Yao woke up feeling refreshed.

He even felt taller.

"I should be at level 2 now. I wonder if I can use the Shadow Step I got yesterday!"

Chen Yao quickly sifted through his memories and found the Scout skill called Shadow Step.

Following the method in his memory, he drew a warm current from his dantian and injected it into his legs, then took a step forward.

With a whoosh, Chen Yao felt a moment of dizziness, and when he came to his senses, he was already three meters away.

"This is a skill, it's amazing! If only there was a data panel, I could understand what this level and skill business is all about..."

Ying ying ying...

At that moment, a group of Slimes came running over, instantly surrounding Chen Yao.

They crazily pressed against him, almost suffocating him.

To Chen Yao's surprise, he felt another warm current flowing into his body, replenishing the energy he had just used, even though it was only half of the first time.

"So, I can dual cultivate repeatedly, no wonder they keep following me!"

Chen Yao was delighted.

"Huh?"

He suddenly heard footsteps in the distance, and he could clearly see several hundred meters away.

"Is this...? Did I absorb the eagle's vision? I can see so far..."

Chen Yao was both surprised and delighted, reaching out to stroke the eagle's head.

The eagle obediently nudged his palm, enjoying the warm current flowing into its body, making it stronger.

"Let's go take a look!"

Chen Yao, with a group of Slimes and an eagle, quickly crossed the dense forest and parted the grass to see several Adventurers fighting a pack of wolves.

These wolves were tall and fierce, numbering over a hundred.

They surrounded the human Adventurers, attacking madly, occasionally knocking one down and biting through their necks.

"Ah... Quick, send a message, request support from nearby Adventurers..."

A Warrior was struggling to defend with his shield, shouting to those behind him.

The Archer protected in the middle immediately shot an arrow into the sky, emitting a sharp whistle.

This whistle was a distress signal, alerting nearby Adventurers that someone was under attack and needed help.

According to the guild's agreement, they were obliged to provide support.

Chen Yao crouched nearby, watching without any intention to help.

He didn't have the strength, and going in would be suicide.

Besides, why should he?

Now he's a Goblin, why help humans?

If there was a beauty among them, he might consider getting involved to enhance his strength.

But since they were all men, he had no interest!

These Adventurers were quite strong, resisting for over an hour, but in the end, they were all killed by the wolves.

They were torn to pieces and devoured.

However, Chen Yao didn't leave. He lay quietly in the grass, observing.

Only after the wolves left did he jump up and start looting the bodies.

The Adventurers had a lot of equipment, and Chen Yao collected what he could use.

There were also several backpacks filled with miscellaneous items.

Just as he was enjoying himself, he heard a loud shout.

"How dare you! Damn Goblin, how dare you kill so many Adventurers, die!"

A gust of wind approached, sending a chill through Chen Yao's body.

"I've been discovered!"

Chen Yao was terrified, instinctively using Shadow Step, and his figure appeared three meters away, dodging a sharp strike.

"What? How is this possible?!"

The newcomer was a young man of eighteen or nineteen, wielding an Iron Sword and Wooden Shield, wearing Leather Armor.

He looked at Chen Yao in shock. This Goblin was too fast, could it be a skill?

Impossible!

Impossible!

Goblins don't have such talents; they can't learn magic or Fighting Spirit.

How could it be a skill?

It must be a mistake.

Seeing the bloody remains on the ground, the young Warrior was even angrier.

"Damn Goblin, how dare you kill so many Adventurers, today I'll chop you up and feed you to the dogs."

In his view, this was definitely a group crime.

The main Goblin force had left, leaving one to clean up the battlefield.

He would deal with this one and then pursue the other Goblins.

He roared, his Fighting Spirit surging, and used the skill Charge, rushing at Chen Yao.

Chen Yao's face changed dramatically; with his current strength, he was no match for this guy.

He could only use Shadow Step to dodge quickly, but the opponent was too fast, and he ended up getting slashed on the arm, blood gushing out.

"Die!"

The young Warrior sneered, using the skill Horizontal Slash again!

A wave of Fighting Spirit shot from his sword, slashing straight at Chen Yao.

Chen Yao was terrified; he couldn't dodge.

"Wa ya ya!!"

At the critical moment, countless Slimes jumped out of the grass, blocking the terrifying slash.

Swish swish swish!

In an instant, dozens of Slimes died tragically.

The remaining Slimes charged at the young Warrior.

The eagle swooped down, grabbing Chen Yao's shoulder and fleeing.

"Huh?"

The young Warrior was stunned, wanting to pursue but was entangled by the Slimes, forced to deal with the immediate problem first.

As for the Goblin, being carried away by the eagle, it should be eaten directly.

The young man sneered, swinging his Iron Sword to kill, quickly slaughtering over a hundred Slimes.

He was already level 10, and dealing with these Slimes took little effort.

As for Chen Yao.

Being carried by the eagle, he watched helplessly as the Slimes that had helped him were slaughtered, filled with grief and anger.

They had been his companions for several days, and now they were killed by this guy.

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from bit.ly/3iBfjkV.

He would definitely seek revenge!

Whoosh!

A sharp sound pierced the air, and a Feather Arrow shot through the sky.

The eagle, completely unprepared, was pierced through, letting out a miserable cry as it fell.

"Damn it!"

Chen Yao cursed, his body plummeting.

Fortunately, he was small, and the dense branches broke his fall, so he landed without much harm.

But the eagle was already on the brink of death.

Seeing the Feather Arrow in its body, Chen Yao's eyes were filled with rage.

"Who did this?!" he roared, looking for the culprit.

"Heh, this Goblin is lucky, not dead yet?"

Two figures appeared before Chen Yao, looking at the Goblin with disdain.

Both were well-equipped, one a golden-haired, blue-eyed, stunningly beautiful Archer.

The other, a two-meter-tall burly man.

The burly man was all muscle, wrapped in iron chains, holding a giant shield, standing like a tower.

Exuding a terrifying pressure.

"It's over, this time I'm doomed!"

Chen Yao could only use Shadow Step now. Although he had collected an Iron Sword, he couldn't wield it with his current physique.

In the end, he had to discard the sword and take out two Daggers.

"Hey, this ugly Goblin still wants to resist? Interesting!"

The golden-haired, blue-eyed beauty Archer chuckled, handing her bow to the burly man beside her.

"This lady will play with it!"

She drew a short sword, looking at Chen Yao with a playful expression.
