Chapter 14 – A Bounty of 100,000 Star Coins!

"Have you figured it out?"

Wan Keshan looked at Li Qingshan, who was deep in thought, and offered some guidance:

"Two years is enough for you to reach the Body Refinement 5th Stage."

"By then, even without martial skills, you could easily cut down Langdu."

"In the end, cultivation level is the foundation. Even in the New Continent, one first raises their level before delving into martial skills."

"Thank you, teacher. I understand."

Li Qingshan nodded, not arguing.

Wan Keshan's words were correct, but they didn't apply to him.

With the Martial Arts Space, mastering the Phantom Step was just around the corner.

Once the Phantom Step was mastered, successfully killing Langdu would allow him to focus on honing his skills in The Stars Are Calling.

At the fourth stage of The Stars Are Calling, his training efficiency would double again.

Reaching the Body Refinement 5th Stage wouldn't take two years at all!

Wan Keshan nodded, saying no more, and swiped his finger across the communicator.

Li Qingshan's wrist trembled,

Ding!

Account +100,000

Li Qingshan's eyes widened, staring at the number on the screen.

"This is why I wanted to see you."

Wan Keshan's lips curled up, pleased with Li Qingshan's reaction.

"Your report letter yesterday was very useful. The 100,000 Star Coins is your reward."

Li Qingshan looked up in surprise,

"Teacher, do you have a part-time job at the Inspection Bureau?"

Wan Keshan's smile froze, his face twitching.

"What part-time job? It's a consultant position!"

"Right, consultant, I'm just used to saying part-time, sorry." Li Qingshan apologized with a smile.

100,000 Star Coins were enough to cover a month's worth of nutrient solution.

He always had a good attitude towards benefactors.

Then, Li Qingshan asked the question he was most concerned about.

"Teacher, is the woman with the purplish-red hair mentioned in the letter really an Evil God Cultist?"

"Pretty much confirmed." Wan Keshan nodded.

Pretty much confirmed?

Li Qingshan was taken aback, surprised:

"The Inspection Bureau didn't catch her?"

If they had, they wouldn't use such wording.

After a brief pause, Wan Keshan spoke:

"According to the Inspection Bureau's rules, I'm not supposed to tell you."

After saying this, he noticed his student wasn't disappointed but rather looked eager for more information.

Are students today so experienced with society?

The thought flashed by, and Wan Keshan continued:

"The Inspection Bureau initially monitored several streets, including Linjiang Road, where the two deceased were frequently seen."

"However, after receiving your report, they conducted a more in-depth investigation of the Galaxy Bar on Linjiang Road."

"Unexpectedly, they did uncover some issues."

"The Galaxy Bar was a base for a group of Flesh Cult followers."

"A base!"

Li Qingshan gasped, feeling a bit of fear.

He had worked at the Galaxy Bar for over a month, not knowing how many Evil God Cultists he had brushed past.

"Just a few lowlifes, what's there to fear!" Wan Keshan frowned disapprovingly,

"Last night, the entire base was raided by the Inspection Bureau. After overnight interrogations, it was found that the woman you mentioned was just a newly initiated cultist, and the night before was her first sacrifice."

"The bureau speculates that the woman might have already fled Luoying City to hide elsewhere."

At this point, Wan Keshan paused and reminded:

"Your decision to resign yesterday and not go to the bar was very prudent."

"But just in case, I must remind you. The Flesh Cult worships the Flesh Demon God, and its followers have the ability to alter their appearance. Be wary of those who deliberately approach you."

"Thank you, teacher, I understand."

Li Qingshan wasn't overly worried,

After all, the base had been dismantled, and a small fish that slipped through the net couldn't cause much trouble.

Moreover, he only had a brief encounter with that woman the night before, with no grudges, so it was unlikely she'd come after him.

Having found a way to kill Langdu and with the 100,000 reward in hand, Li Qingshan took his leave and headed for the door.

Just as he reached the doorway, Wan Keshan's voice came from behind.

"Remember, assumptions are just assumptions; cultivation level is the foundation!"

"Teacher, I understand."

Li Qingshan replied, his figure disappearing through the door.

"I hope you truly understand."

Wan Keshan sighed, his expression complex.

Li Qingshan had come to the office specifically to ask about ways to kill Langdu.

His persistent demeanor didn't seem like he was just asking casually.

He once had a student who asked similar questions, seeking power beyond their cultivation level.

And that student had great perception, reaching the third stage of The Stars Are Calling just in middle school.

Such talent could have gone straight to the New Continent.

But at the time, Wan Keshan, in a moment of enthusiasm, decided to keep the student in Luoying City to teach personally.

Because he had "seen the world" and knew that super geniuses from martial arts stars all had the ability to defeat enemies beyond their level.

However, reality dealt Wan Keshan a heavy blow.

The student he painstakingly trained indeed gained the ability to defeat enemies beyond their level.

But this "beyond" had its limits.

In the same batch of students in the New Continent, several had surpassed his student by an entire major level.

As a result, his student lost the opportunity to leave Ziying Star and study at a martial arts star.

Buzz!

His wrist vibrated, and a video request popped up on the communicator.

Seeing the identity of the caller, Wan Keshan's face stiffened slightly.

However, he still answered.

The screen lit up,

A bright silver mecha appeared on the other side, with streams of light occasionally flashing across its metallic shell.

The mecha's face showed no movement, but a cold female voice spoke,

"Wan Consultant, has Li Qingshan's reward been issued?"

Wan Keshan's expression returned to normal, and he grinned:

"Of course, otherwise why would you be contacting me?"

"Wan Consultant, according to the bureau's standards, the reward for such base information should be 50,000 Star Coins."

"Yu Man, you've grown bold, trying to use your deputy director status to pressure me? What consultant, call me uncle!"

Wan Keshan retorted, embarrassed and angry:

"Li Qingshan is a martial arts genius, raised in public care, can't even afford nutrient solutions, so what's wrong with giving him a bit more reward?"

After a two-second silence, the mecha's face opened, revealing a delicate face with a six-point resemblance to Yu Lei.

"Genius?"

Yu Man questioned flatly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

If he were truly a genius, he'd already be in the New Continent.

Wan Keshan couldn't refute, eventually sighing.

"Li Qingshan just came by, asking a question similar to one you asked back then."

Yu Man was that student from before.

Wan Keshan wasn't sure if he was helping Li Qingshan because of his public upbringing or because he thought of Yu Man.

Perhaps it was both.

Yu Man's cold face finally showed some change, her voice softening a bit.

"Uncle, I've never blamed you. Even if I hadn't focused on martial skills back then, my cultivation level might not have surpassed those few."

"Besides, I practice martial arts for stronger combat power."

"Mecha can also help me achieve my goals! At least now, those few are no match for me!"

"Mecha?"

Wan Keshan looked at the screen, watching the shimmering silver mecha, and shook his head.

"It's not the same. If you had gone to a martial arts star, you might have glimpsed the pinnacle of martial arts."

Wan Keshan gazed out the window at the sky, seemingly longing.

"That would be traversing the stars with one's body, roaming the universe!"

"Interstellar battleships can also roam the universe!" Yu Man's voice turned flat again,

"In a while, I'll strive for an opportunity to study at a planetary fortress."

"If all goes well, my combat power will further increase, and even those super geniuses from martial arts stars won't be my match."

"Again with combat power!"

Wan Keshan shook his head, ending the communication.

The path of evolution hasn't reached its end; no one has the right to judge the correctness of a direction.

But as a martial arts teacher, he remains loyal to martial arts for life.

"Li Qingshan and Yu Man are ultimately different. I hope he listens to advice!"

Wan Keshan sighed,

Yu Man had awakened a psychic ability, providing an alternative path with mechas.

But if Li Qingshan chose the wrong path, he'd lose even the slightest chance of going to the New Continent.

He'd ultimately remain in the Old Continent, blending into the crowd.
