Chapter 7 – All the Kidnappers Are Dead

"Brothers, kill him!"

The bald kidnapper shouted in anger, his right hand decisively reaching for his waist to pull out the gun hidden there.

This shout no longer carried the initial arrogance and disdain, but was filled with panic and fear.

The other kidnappers, hearing the command, also hurriedly drew their guns.

But before they could steady their aim and pull the trigger, Jiang Hao moved like lightning, transforming into a blur as he charged at them.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

With three dull thuds, the three armed kidnappers, including the bald one, were sent flying like sandbags, crashing heavily to the ground. Like the kidnapper who had died earlier, they bled from their orifices, their bodies convulsing, barely breathing.

In just a minute, the situation had dramatically reversed. The prey had become the predator.

Jin Hanyao, who had thought even gods couldn't save Jiang Hao today, was now both shocked and overjoyed.

She was astonished by Jiang Hao's unexpected strength and delighted that the kidnappers were dead, meaning she was out of danger.

Though the scene was bloody, she felt no pity for the kidnappers. They deserved their fate.

The last remaining kidnapper in a black vest stood trembling, his legs shaking like jelly.

To him, Jiang Hao now appeared like a demon from the depths of hell, instilling endless fear.

Pointing at Jiang Hao with a trembling finger, he asked, "Who are you?"

This man was too powerful, killing without blinking. What had they gotten themselves into?

Jiang Hao sneered, slowly approaching the kidnapper in the black vest. "I'm the 'chicken' you captured for slaughter, isn't that what you said?"

"I was just... misspeaking, talking nonsense!" The kidnapper pleaded in terror, retreating step by step.

After a few steps back, he suddenly fell to his knees with a thud, kowtowing desperately. "Please, sir, spare my life, and I'll give you all the money I have!"

Jiang Hao stopped, quietly watching the kidnapper.

Seeing Jiang Hao not making a move, the kidnapper assumed he wouldn't be killed and hurriedly expressed his gratitude. "Thank you for sparing my life!" He quickly handed over all the cash he had to Jiang Hao.

"Sir, I only have this much cash on me, but don't worry, I have over 300,000 in my phone. I can transfer it to you right now!"

"I only want cash," Jiang Hao replied coldly.

The money on these kidnappers was all illegally obtained. Accepting a bank transfer would surely lead the police to him later.

His current identity was that of an ordinary man, Jiang Hao, not the once-feared Wolf King of the Dark World, above all.

Besides, he didn't even have a phone now, so he couldn't transfer money even if he wanted to.

"Cash..." The kidnapper looked anxious. "But I only have this much cash... Wait, my brothers have some cash too!" He quickly got up and went to the bodies of his deceased comrades.

After some searching, the kidnapper collected over 50,000 from the four dead kidnappers and found another 10,000 in cash in the van.

In total, it was nearly 70,000.

Fortunately, these kidnappers carried more cash to avoid exposing their identities. Ordinary people might not even have 300 or 500 in cash on them.

After receiving the cash from the kidnapper, Jiang Hao's cold expression softened slightly.

The kidnapper's face lit up with joy, believing his life was spared. "Sir, may I leave now?"

Jiang Hao didn't respond, just quietly organizing the cash in his hands.

The kidnapper assumed he was allowed to leave, thanked Jiang Hao, and turned to walk towards the door. As he got closer to the exit, his pace quickened.

As for his dead comrades, he couldn't care less. Survival was his priority; he could build memorials for them later.

Revenge? Fuck that!

Taking revenge on someone as terrifyingly strong as Jiang Hao was suicide. Besides, he had already found several bank cards on his 'brothers' while searching for money, enough to ensure a comfortable life.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his chest. Looking down, he saw a dagger piercing through from his back, blood dripping from the blade.

Turning back, he glared at Jiang Hao with resentment. "You took my money and broke your promise!" With that, he collapsed to the ground, dead.

Jiang Hao coldly glanced at the kidnapper's corpse. "When did I promise to spare your life? As for the money, that's the message fee."

Thinking of the message fee, he slapped his forehead. "How could I forget to ask for his last words?" He looked at the kidnapper's corpse, annoyed. "It's your fault for leaving in such a hurry, making me seem untrustworthy."

He had temporarily withdrawn from the Dark World, now living as Jiang Hao, not the assassin he once was, and didn't want to kill.

But these kidnappers had treated him like a 'chicken' for slaughter, forcing him to kill.

The Wolf King might have retired, but his dignity remained, not to be desecrated.

...

Jiang Hao stuffed the wad of cash into his pocket.

At least he had some 'savings' now.

Killing these five kidnappers was no different from slaughtering a few chickens to him.

In the past, he had killed international bigwigs and formidable warriors. Killing these people was an honor for them.

"Hey!"

Jin Hanyao called out to Jiang Hao's back, wanting him to untie the ropes binding her.

Seeing Jiang Hao unmoved, she called again, "Hey, could you please come and untie me?"

Jiang Hao turned and slowly walked towards Jin Hanyao.

She thought he would untie her, but as he approached, her smile froze. He picked up a dagger from the ground with his foot.

Seeing the cold glint of the dagger and his icy expression, Jin Hanyao realized he wasn't there to save her but seemed intent on killing her.

"Sir, I've always done good deeds and never harmed anyone. You can't kill me!" Jin Hanyao swallowed, her voice trembling as she promised, "Rest assured, you killing these kidnappers is a public service. I won't betray you to the police."

Jiang Hao hesitated.

He did consider killing the girl in front of him, a natural instinct as an assassin to protect himself, as leaving a witness posed too many uncertainties.

"I even risked my life to call out and save you earlier. You can't forget that!" Jin Hanyao pleaded, tears welling up.

Jiang Hao didn't respond, just silently gazing at her with cold eyes.

The atmosphere was tense and oppressive.

After a long pause, Jiang Hao raised the dagger and swung it towards Jin Hanyao.

As the cold light flashed, Jin Hanyao thought Jiang Hao was going to kill her and closed her eyes in fear.

But the next moment, she felt no pain. Opening her eyes, she saw the ropes binding her had been cut, and the icy man had turned his back, walking to the door, disappearing around the corner.

Jin Hanyao finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Having survived the ordeal, she hurriedly retrieved a phone from one of the kidnappers and called her father, Jin Zhenghong.

...

Meanwhile, at the Jin Family.

Everyone was anxiously waiting for another call from the kidnappers.

"Grandpa, you all wait for the call. I'm going out to find someone!"

Jin Feng said to his family and was about to leave.

He strongly opposed his grandfather's approach, but the old man held supreme authority in the Jin Family and the company, so he dared not object.

But before he could step out, his third uncle, Jin Zhenghong's phone rang.

He thought it was just a regular call, but when he heard it was from an unknown number, he stopped.

Friends and relatives wouldn't use an unknown number to contact them, so the only possibility was the kidnappers.

Not just him, but all the Jin Family members present thought the same upon hearing the number.

"Dad!"

Jin Zhenghong looked at his father for guidance.

"Answer it quickly!" urged Old Master Jin. Before Jin Zhenghong pressed the answer button, he reminded, "Don't anger the kidnappers, keep them calm, and agree to any conditions for now."

Hearing his grandfather say to agree to any conditions, Jin Feng's face showed anger.

He couldn't understand why his usually wise grandfather had lost his reason. Didn't he know that agreeing to the kidnappers would put them at a disadvantage in future negotiations?

With his father's permission, Jin Zhenghong felt relieved. He was worried his father might negotiate and lower the ransom, which could provoke the kidnappers in their current violent state.

Jin Zhenghong answered the call, and before he could speak, he heard his daughter's voice, "Dad." He didn't show much joy but comforted her, "Yaoyao, don't be afraid. Dad will find a way to save you."

"Dad, I'm fine now. All the kidnappers are dead. I'll send you my location. Please come and get me."

His daughter's words left Jin Zhenghong and all the Jin Family members dumbfounded, thinking they had misheard.

"Yaoyao, did you just say all the kidnappers are dead?" Jin Zhenghong's face was full of disbelief.

The surrounding Jin Family members were equally incredulous.

"Dad, you heard right. All the kidnappers are indeed dead!"

When Jin Hanyao's voice came through the speaker again, the entire Jin Family erupted in joy, their faces filled with delight.

Especially Old Master Jin, who, being over seventy, had been deeply worried and anxious about his beloved granddaughter's kidnapping. Now, hearing the kidnappers were dead and his granddaughter was safe, the weight on his heart lifted, and he murmured with emotion, "It must be the Jin Family ancestors watching over and protecting the descendants!"

When Jin Hanyao sent her location, several cars left the Jin Family Villa, heading towards the location.

Besides the Jin Family members, the cars also carried security personnel and bodyguards responsible for the Jin Family's safety.

At the same time, over ten police cars from the city’s criminal investigation team also sped towards the location.

...

Although the Jin Family and the police knew in advance that all the kidnappers were dead, they were still stunned by the scene at the abandoned auto repair shop.

Five kidnappers lay scattered on the ground, four dead with blood streaming from their orifices, and another with a long knife through his body.

During the police statement, Jin Hanyao only mentioned that her rescuer was a masked man. When asked for more details about her savior's appearance, she lied, providing incorrect information.
